DIVORCE AND FAMILY LAW

Family law is a branch of law that deals with family-related issues and falls within the scope of civil law. The main subjects of family law are engagement, conditions and provisions of marriage, conditions and consequences of divorce, property regimes, family residence, lineage, adoption, custody, child support, guardianship, trusteeship, legal consultancy, support alimony.

Although women’s rights and children’s rights constitute separate areas of study in their own right, they are also within the scope of family law. Within the scope of family law, disputes regarding issues regulated in the Turkish Civil Code and some other special laws are heard in Family Courts.
